Sue Jimenez owns 'Clever With Clay' and specializes in wearable polymer clay art. She currently produces a number of items, but specializes in brooches, pendants and earrings reflecting the Southwest landscapes and geology, which are as soothing to the creator as they are to the wearer. Each of her pieces is unique, one-of-a-kind, and not mass produced or manufactured for wholesale. Each item is individually crafted from a palette of dozens of colors of clay, blended and layered for dimensionality and contrast, to produce a vibrant natural rainbow that excites the eyes. No paint is applied. Each piece is given a distinctive name, and she produces several series of items, including the 'Mesa' series, the 'Southwest 'Scapes' series, ‘Mini Mesa’ series, and is also producing a line entitled 'Deep Sky Objects', which reflect her interpretation of astronomical objects beyond our solar system. Pieces of her creations are on display at The Wooden Cow Gallery in Albuquerque, as well as several local shops.
