Brendan McPheeBrendan McPhee was born in March of 1981, and raised in Waukegan, Il., a declining industrial city just north of Chicago. Like all youngsters he doodled in school and drew fake tattoos on his friends, and also got in trouble for doing so. His teenage years want pretty rough and art was definitely not in the picture. In his early twenties, he picked up his first paint brush and want to work on a canvas......he was hooked. This was finally the release of all the pain and suffering from street life and alcoholism he'd been searching for. Pure catharsis. His earliest works showed up as demons splashed on canvas or silhouettes not giving life to "nouns". Over several more years of experience and travel, his paintings again ceased, but the artist had matured. Brendan today has an open minded worldly view of all things. His travels have taken him to China, France, and just about every state in the U.S.. He is an ultimate risk taker and enjoys pushing the limit whether physically or mentally. Art today is his purest form of freedom and obsession. Brendan also just recently hiked part of the Appalachian Trail with no money and found he had a decent eye for photography. Taking a cheap camera and snapping hundreds of shots for that "one" capture of true beauty. The Artist or "Coyote" as he likes to be called, practices Buddhism, Shamanism, and Recovery on daily basis. Brendan today, is only willing to paint or shoot something that he believes will inspire that next Artist or Creative being. And is having a great time doing so.
