SWAIA’s chosen poster artist for the August 2008 Indian Market painted “Cochiti Feast,” on our cover this month. Mateo Romero’s mixed-media painting was selected by Contributing Editor Joan Fenicle to represent our American Indian Arts theme for its wonderful use of color and subject matter.

“The SWAIA poster image is a powerful portrayal of a deer dancer, but these children, ready to dance, caught our eyes and our hearts,” Fenicle says. “Romero represents the new generation of American Indian artists, who combine traditional elements of their culture with contemporary expressions.”

I thought It would be cool to introduce my self on this really cool blog from

Albuquerque Art Review, and some of the other things I'm doing, and working on.

As a working Glass Artist, its demanded that I seek video presentation, because of sites like youtube, I've been able to show people what I do. click here for my youtube videos you can also find a link to my website there

By default I've had to learn to use a computer, and then I had to learn to present myself with a website and pics. Video is the next level in presenting yourself, and in my search for better online video players, not just for the higher quality image but also for the functions. in my search I found the best of all worlds. I found a platform that was built by companies like Disney, and I was able to get access to a portion of this platform providing full screen no buffering streaming video with a built in pay pal pay/per/view function. Wow!! My own pay/per/view channel, think about it. What a great time to be alive. Here is a link to a site that you to can have your own pay/per/view channel or maybe you just want a free streaming video for yourself

September Art Showdown Theme

September's Showdown Theme is "Autumn." Any piece that incorporates the season and spirit of Fall will be accepted in to September's Showdown. As usual, ABQ Art Review puts up $50 cash for the winner. You may begin submitting images for Septembers Showdown on August 21.
